ROSE WINE Hunter’s Hunters Rose New Zealand Marlborough 750mL
Rosé started out as a Cellar Door only wine and was made in an extremely small quantity with the main grape varieties being Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the mid- 90’s we had a visit from our then Swiss Distributor and some of his Sales Team. It was a great meeting and we set out to impress with our range of wines, but we omitted the Rosé from the tasting because of the low volume made and the low entry price range for this wine into the Swiss market.
However, a couple of eagle eyed sales guys spotted it in the fridge and asked to taste it. And from there we started exporting Rosé to Switzerland. Subsequently we were asked to tweak the colour and the blend, but it seemed to hit the spot and we increased volume to meet demand.
